Architectural Work

Projects from Architecture Studio I and Small Builds.
Treehouse Towers & Skywalk

This is my final project for my Arch. Studio I course. We were asked to find a pattern in nature and draw inspiration from it in order to later design a building. The purpose of my project is to provide secluded housing units that can allow its inhabitants to find refuge in the natural environment. There are multiple levels of connecting pathways, which allow access between the two structures. It also allows users to observe and experience various levels of forest canopy. It would be situated in the forest setting in order to blend into its surroundings. The core twin tower structures would be built on site, but the modular pods would be brought in, already made.

Mixed-use Portable Shelter

This is a small model that I made for a project on portable shelters. The project called on us to design a portable structure that shelters us from anything: it could be a shelter from rain, sun, snow, cold, gunfire, staring eyes, etc. I chose to create a concept for an easy-to-use shelter that protects people from the light, to be used for quick naps. It would be used in either the classroom setting (for power naps during after class hours) or the outdoors. My shelter is portable in that it can transform into a bag.

In a 1:1 scale model, this shelter would be large enough to cover the majority of the human body--though the legs and feet are not a priority. It would be made of a light plastic framework that snaps into place when assembled as a shelter, with an opaque, dark cloth surface ideal for blocking light.
